Hiking to Mt. Meru

Hike up the second-highest mountain in Tanzania and be rewarded with a refreshing waterfall! Mount Meru in Arusha is the highest mountain in Tanzania after Mount Kilimanjaro. It is a dormant volcano that lies closely to Arusha National Park, and nature is beautiful here. During this 45-minute hike you pass an amazing amount of gorgeous and gigantic flowers and plants, while tropical birds and maybe even Colobus monkeys can be seen in the trees. Your guide will tell you about the nature surrounding you, and about the traditions of the people living in the area who make up for a unique tribe. The refreshing water of the waterfall is a lovely reward after a hike that can be steep at times. You have to be reasonable fit for this excursion, which is best to be avoided in the rainy season when paths get slippery.
